Storage Bromley Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions Storage Bromley is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold fundamental human rights and to ensure that the goods and services we procure are produced under fair, safe and lawful working conditions.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Bromley has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude and human trafficking. We are committed to conducting our business with integrity and transparency, and to ensuring that exploitation has no place in any part of our organisation or supply chain.
All directors, employees, contractors and temporary workers are expected to act in accordance with this policy. We also expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, service providers and business partners, and we are committed to fostering relationships only with those who share our values.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Bromley operates storage facilities and related services in the United Kingdom. Our supply chains include providers of storage equipment, property maintenance, security services, cleaning and waste management, utilities, office supplies and professional services. We recognise that risks related to modern slavery can exist at different levels of these supply chains, especially where there is use of low-skilled or subcontracted labour.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our approach to supply chain due diligence. Wherever appropriate, we seek to include contractual commitments that require suppliers to comply with all relevant employment, human rights and anti-slavery legislation. We expect our suppliers to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within their own operations or those of their subcontractors.
Storage Bromley undertakes proportionate audits and assessments of selected suppliers, with particular focus on those considered to be higher risk due to the nature of the work, sector, or geography. These audits may include reviewing policies, training records, recruitment practices and evidence of right-to-work checks, as well as discussions with management and, where feasible, workers. Where areas for improvement are identified, we work with suppliers on corrective action plans and monitor progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to address serious concerns, we reserve the right to reconsider or terminate the relationship.
Training, Awareness and Responsibility
Responsibility for our modern slavery commitments rests with the senior management team, who oversee the implementation and periodic review of related policies and procedures. Managers involved in procurement, facilities management and supplier engagement receive guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery and on applying our due diligence expectations.
We seek to raise awareness among all employees so they understand what modern slavery is, how to spot potential warning signs, and what to do if they have concerns. Our objective is to embed respect for human rights within our everyday decision-making and culture.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Bromley encourages anyone who becomes aware of, or suspects, modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains to report their concerns without delay. Employees can report concerns to their line manager or a senior manager. Concerns may also be raised through existing internal reporting and whistleblowing mechanisms, which allow matters to be escalated confidentially.
We will take all reports of suspected modern slavery seriously and will investigate them as appropriate. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation or victimisation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, even if those concerns are ultimately not substantiated.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Bromley is committed to continually improving our approach to combating modern slavery. We will review this statement and our related policies and procedures at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, guidance or our business operations. As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider any incidents reported, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls and supplier engagement.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Bromley and reflects our ongoing commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
